From The Cities of Brooklyn Park and Champlin, MN:
U.S.F.S.A. Learn to Skate Programs Come Skate With Us, and learn the FUNdamentals of ice skating, earn badges, have fun, meet new friends, and be healthy! We offer a variety of levels through this program:
Snow Plow Sam Levels 1-3= He’s big, he’s fuzzy and he loves to skate! Snow Plow Sam, the U.S.F.S.A.’s own polar bear on skates, introduces preliminary moves to preschool age skaters not ready for the Basic 1 level.
Basic Levels 1-8= Eight carefully-planned levels allow the beginning skater to feel comfortable on the ice while gaining the basic skating knowledge needed to advance into any of the next levels of the Skate With Us program.
Freeskate Levels 1-6 Skaters learn jumps, spins and other exciting athletic and artistic moves.
Artistry in Motion Levels 1-4 - (Coming Soon!) Incorporates overall body awareness, choreography, composition and artistic expression to skating techniques.
Adult Levels 1-4 Promotes overall fitness, improves balance and coordination while mastering the basics of ice skating.
Hockey Introduces the basics of hockey skating skills with power and agility.
The program’s objectives are: 1. To provide a fun and safe skating experience for the beginner as well as the more advanced skater. 2. To teach correct technique of the simple basic elements. 3. To develop a finer degree of coordination and balance to promote physical fitness. 4. To enable all to achieve the skills necessary to be able to skate for fun the rest of their lives or to move competently into USFSA advanced test and or competitive levels.
